Papers checked
A vehicle licence for every car. Self-drive adds proof of ownership, comprehensive insurance and a roadworthiness certificate. We watch the expiry dates and take a car off the road the day one lapses.
Money held, not passed on
Ridrr holds what a renter pays until the trip is over. The owner withdraws it when they want it. A caution is the renter’s own money, held and given back — no fee or commission touches it.
Someone to call
If a car comes back damaged or filthy, nobody argues in a car park. Send us the photographs and we decide what comes out of the caution.

Ridrr covers all 36 states and the FCT. Owners set how far their car may go — their own state, the states next to it, or anywhere in the country.
Questions people actually ask.
Who pays for fuel?
Every car is handed over with at least half a tank — or half charge, if it is electric. You bring it back with whatever is in it. You are never asked to refill it. On a with-driver booking, fuel is between the owner and their driver and nothing to do with you.
What is the caution, and do I get it back?
Only self-drive bookings have one, and only if the owner sets one. It is your own money, held by Ridrr and returned in full after a clean return. No commission or service fee is ever taken from it. If the owner claims against it, they send us photographs and we decide.
What if I need to cancel?
The owner picks one of four policies and the exact date free cancellation ends is shown before you pay, as a real date. Any booking made a week or more ahead can also be cancelled free within 24 hours of making it. The Ridrr service fee is the one thing never refunded.
Can I take the car to another state?
Only if the owner allows it. Each listing says whether the car may go anywhere in Nigeria, to neighbouring states, or must stay in its own — and you can filter for cars that reach where you are going.
Why does Ridrr want me to message in the app?
Because if a trip goes wrong, the thread is what support reads to settle it — and a conversation that happened on WhatsApp is one we cannot see. Keeping it here also means nobody has to hand a phone number to a stranger before a booking is confirmed. One thing worth knowing either way: Ridrr never asks you to pay outside the app. Anyone who does, whether they say they are an owner, a renter or support, is trying to defraud you.
What does Ridrr charge?
Renters pay a 5% service fee on the rental. Owners pay 15% commission. Nothing is charged on a caution, and there are no listing fees, no monthly fees and no fee for having a car sit unbooked.
